Arsenal is speeding up their search for the next Arsène Wenger. One of many prospective managers is Massimiliano Allegri of Juventus FC.
It is reported that Arsenal officials already have met with Allegri’s agent to talk about this issue.
Since his arrival in 1996, Wenger has become an iconic figure at the club. However, his recent situation doesn’t look as good as the old days. Arsenal did not win the league title for more than ten years now and as a result, Wenger’s contract extension (which expires at the end of this season) is at halt. Wenger himself said that all decisions will be made in April when the results come out.
The fact that Allegri is looking for a new challenge outside of his country, also makes the rumors look more promising.
