The FA has officially decided to charge Arsène Wenger with misconduct.
In the 22nd round of the league fixture, Arsenal dramatically defeated Burnley FC 2 – 1 with a late penalty goal by Alexis Sánchez. Before this late goal, Burnley was also awarded a penalty and Wenger aggressively protested against this decision. The camera spotted him pushing the fourth official Anthony Taylor.
After the match, the FA announced their decision to charge Wenger with misconduct. They told in their official website, “he used abusive and/or insulting words towards the fourth official.” Also in the website, “his behaviour in remaining in the tunnel area and making physical contact with the fourth official amounted to improper conduct.”
Wenger already apologized in his post-match interview saying that he regrets all his unnecessary actions. Wenger has until the 26th to respond to the charge.
