Welbeck proved why he had to come back according to Arsenal manager

Arsenal progressed into the 5th round of FA Cup after demolishing Southampton FC with two goals from Danny Welbeck and a hat-trick from Theo Walcott.

What especially stood out was Welbeck’s performance after coming back from a nine-month-long injury. It was his first start since his return but Welbeck’s movement was something special. He often sharply ran into the space behind Southampton defenders causing a lot of trouble for them. He successively made a goal with a cheeky chip in the 15th minute of the first half and scored his second just seven minutes after his first. By making two goals and one assist in this game, he announced his return in some style.

Arsène Wenger commented that he also did not expect Welbeck to do so well. Welbeck showed everyone why he had to come back and how much passion he put in to return to the ground. With his return, the team is steadily finding its best balance, Wenger added.
